Get Younger Looking Skin with this Seaweed Anti-Aging Serum

Sharing is caring!

One of my favorite ways to get in my 5 minutes is to take some extra time on my skincare.  Our largest organ is our skin, and it can show aging so quick, so when I heard about this Anti-Aging Serum made with Irish Seaweed from Roscara my interest was piqued.

This Roscara Anti-Ageing Serum has many benefits listed in its claims. Seaweed may be gross to feel when your feet touch it while swimming in a lake (anyone else get completely freaked out when that happens?), yet it is so beneficial for skincare.  Seaweed is filled with many vitamins and minerals. Which when absorbed into the skin can help with a variety of skin ailments, from acne to rosacea to dry skin.

Our skin is so important to take good care of, anything you put on your skin makes it into your system extremely fast. The types of products you use are very important to keeping healthy skin. So many products contain harsh chemicals that can do more damage than good for your skin.

I know that I am guilty of using products that aren’t necessarily the greatest for my skin. With a good skincare regimen you can help erase the damage from those products. The use of anti-aging products before wrinkles appear will help keep a youthful appearance for years to come.

As a woman in her 30’s I am finding more and more reasons to use anti-aging skincare. Fine lines have started to appear, my skin is much dryer, and the youthful firmness is sadly disappearing.  So I am always searching for something to firm, give hydration, and help with ageing.

Roscara- What ingredients are used?

When I learned about Roscara products my interest was immediate piqued. Especially being someone watching what products I use, one of the first things I looked at was how they got the seaweed and what other ingredients were they using.  I was very pleased to see that they are very transparent about what they use in each product in their line.

Another important thing is sustainability. We all know that over-harvesting any natural resource can carry serious repercussions. Roscara makes sure to use sustainable harvesting techniques to continue the growth of seaweed in Ireland. Their seaweed is hand harvested and based upon the tides along the shore.

Their line is vegetarian and vegan friendly, never animal tested, and doesn’t contain any parabens or petrochemicals. The mixture of hand-harvested seaweed along with the other ingredients is all natural.

It is also important to note that they make their entire line in small batches. This is a small business providing a great product.

Why seaweed?

When I think of seaweed one of the first things I think of is jumping off a friends boat as a kid and feeling the tickle on my feet. Anyone else get that uneasy, yuck, get me out of here feeling when you think of seaweed? As much as I don’t care to swim in it, seaweed is more than welcome to join in on my skincare.

Seaweed is filled with so many skin loving vitamins and minerals, along with being rich in antioxidants. It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties as well as being anti-aging.

About the Anti-aging serum

First, lets talk about the jar.  It comes in a nice, heavy glass jar. When you open the lid there is a plastic piece to keep the product from getting all over the cap, LOVE this!!!

The serum is a very light gel texture. It isn’t a sticky gel, or too runny where it will just slide around. It soaks in quickly which allows you to put it on before bed, or first thing in the morning.

If you’re sensitive to scents it might turn you off, because it is fragranced, but the scent doesn’t linger. She uses essential oils in her products, so there’s no mystery ingredient to worry about. The fragrance isn’t overpowering and dissipates quickly once on the skin.  This would be about the only downfall I can find with this serum.

Using the serum

You will want to use this on clean damp skin for maximum effect. First I cleanse with my usual routine, using my Norwex Body Cloth and water. I then  rub in a small amount of the Anti-aging serum all over my face, focusing on my dry areas first and working my way out. I always make sure to get my neck and décolletage as well. We wouldn’t want a young looking face and let our neck and décolletage give us away.

With your skin being wet you will notice it soaking right in. My face feels refreshed and tightened after using. I enjoy the tightened feeling, it’s not an uncomfortable tight and dehydrated feeling because my skin is definitely hydrated after applying the serum. I have some extremely dry skin, especially in my T-zone and mostly on the apples of my cheeks.

Since starting to use this serum, my dehydrated skin is doing much better. To give it a fair shot, I stopped doing masks and I only used moisturizer in the morning if my skin felt as if it was needed.  When I wake up in the morning now I don’t feel as if I need to put moisturizer on first thing in the morning.

The serum makes my skin more firm feeling, as stated above, and is not uncomfortable.  It has added lasting hydration to my skin, which was definitely needed. I, of course, cannot fairly tell you how the anti-aging properties work because I haven’t used it long enough to see a huge difference yet.

Seaweed has a long history of being used for anti-aging so I have faith that those properties will work, they just take time.  My skin definitely has more of a glow, and hasn’t not had any averse reactions to the anti-aging serum.

This type of product can easily be added into your nightly routine, especially since most of us use some sort of face cream daily anyways.  You could add it and make it part of your 5 minutes of pampering, or just put it into your products you already use.

Where to find it?

There are a couple different places you can order their line, which has several more seaweed infused items.

You can order directly from the Roscara website for £24.99, and can be shipped anywhere.

You can also get it on Amazon if you’re in the US, or anywhere in the world and use Prime to get it faster.

If you want to see the rest of Rosaline’s Roscara Product Line, you can see her store front on Amazon or visit her website.

Have you ever tried a seaweed skincare item?

Thanks for sharing, I have known people to eat seaweed but im not sure I have heard of it being used in cosmetics
with so many products out there, choosing what works is always tricky, that`s why I do appreciate a post well written and explained so a reader know what to expect when they buy a certain product.

Emma, it can be so hard to find a good product. I am really loving this one. My skin is looking better, and actually I have noticed redness going down since beginning use. It has quickly made its way into my routine and will stay there.

Seaweed is the bees knees. It can do wonders for your skin and hair by digesting it. Is it a coincidence that the largest consumers of seaweed is Asia and they also have immaculately healthy skin and hair? I think not. I recently started playing with Korean beauty products that use interesting ingredients like spider protein and pig collagen so seaweed is not surprise. My mom always said that prevention is better than correction, so at least starting with skin care in your 30s is well ahead of a lot of other people in terms of taking care of your largest organ.
