Self Care Gifts to Put on Your Christmas List

  1. This week we are going to take a look at my favorite self care gifts to put on your Christmas list.  These are some of my absolute favorite ways to take a few minutes for my own needs.  There are gifts of all different prices, and focusing on many different ways in which I like to take some time for myself.  I hope this list inspires you to take a few minutes for yourself in the new year.

Nail Polish

One of the fastest and easiest ways that I take a few moments for myself is to throw on some nail polish.  It’s also something that my little miss loves to do with me, so it works out well.  For me, I’m not overly picky, but these Essie holiday gift sets are so cute and have great colors that I don’t really have already.  I also really love this glitter polish!

Bath Bombs

Is it a secret on this page that I’m in love with bath bombs?  They’re a perfect mom gift if you’re a mom who loves soaking in the tub while the rest of the house sleeps.  Those perfect quiet moments when you can really relax and let all the worries of the day melt away.  It sounds so magical.  lol

Sheet Masks

If it’s no surprise I’m asking for bath bombs, it also shouldn’t be a surprise to see sheet masks on this list.   Sheet masks are a fantastic way to relax at the end of the day.  I can put one on at any point of my day and keep on going with what I’m doing until the timer goes off.   I love to have a nice selection to choose from, so these sets are perfect. These Garnier ones are some of my new favorites, especially since I can grab one from the drug store when I’m in town.

Perfume

I have a large perfume selection and I love to change up what I’m wearing every day.  I love grabbing the little plastic bottles from the check out at Victoria’s Secret, they’re some of my favorite perfumes, but sometimes a girl needs something special.  When I’m going for something nicer & special, I’m reaching for Marc Jacobs Daisy.  It’s the perfume I wore my wedding day, so it has some very special memories attached to it.

Mother Tshirt

Amazon has so many shirts with cute mama sayings. I could go bananas posting pictures of shirts I want.  This one is super cute, as I rock my signature messy bun every single day of my life it seems like.  But there are so many other great ones, just scroll down this page for plenty of inspiration.

Coffee/ cocoa mug

Ok, so I’m more of a cocoa girl, but I know coffee is mommy elixir and there are many days I wish I could have some. When you’re looking at a mug that makes you smile, and starts your day off on a happy note, it just helps.  There are thousands of mugs to choose from, it was hard to choose a favorite to feature, but since my toddler is giving me issues this week, we ended up here.

Adult Coloring Book

I have always loved to color and would spend hours coloring in college before it was a trendy way to relax.  The good thing about it being popular now is there are better selections of coloring books for adults.   It is so relaxing, and even my husband has been caught claiming pages for himself that I’m not “allowed” to color because he wants them. lol. Don’t forget the colored pencils.

Journal

I love using a journal to write my thoughts, and having one that is beautiful and inspires me is something I really enjoy. Some days I write more than others, but it helps to organize my thoughts and to help me focus on what is important.   As someone who has a tendency to get lost in bouts of anxiety, journaling helps me look at what is going on in my life and make sense of it, which in turn helps me feel less anxious about whatever is going on in my life.  I have also been looking at bullet journaling for a while, I just haven’t made that leap yet.

Planner

I love planners, and use them to keep my blog organized along with my personal life.  I track my bills, spending, savings… I’m telling you, I absolutely love my planners.   So when I saw this planner by Heather at The Balanced Mamas  I knew it would be exactly what I need.

It is beautifully laid out, you print it yourself, so you can print which pages you need, and skip the ones you know you won’t use. She includes pages to help organize your daily life with goal planning areas and even gives room for meal planning.  She really thought of everything.

You can also include her Home Binder to keep track of bills, home maintenance, meal planning and so much more.  It’s worth it to grab both offerings and save a few dollars.  Just print out, put in a binder and add some tabs to get to different sections.

You can find out more about it here.

The Self Care Journey

Last, but certainly not least, is my book, The Self Care Journey, which is now available on Amazon!  After a lot of contemplation and work, I decided to list my ebook on Amazon and publish it in paperback. So, this means you can get a physical copy in your hands, use your Prime benefits, and get the book in a perfect gift format.  You can also get the book on Kindle to read on the go.

If you’re new to the Self Care Journey, you can read more about it here.

My wishlist? A planner and a mother t-shirt to make it official for motherhood insanity. HAHA. Thank you for writing about self care because I have to remind myself that more often. I always put myself last so for the new year. I’m going to make myself a priority sometimes.

You deserve it! It’s amazing how much better I feel when I put myself on the list, and not way down where I can ignore it. My self care time is a priority time in my day, even if it’s only a few minutes.
