The Busy Mom Self-Care Collection
We all know that getting some ‘me time’ as a mom is next to impossible. It is something we all struggle with. It’s so hard when our children need us 24/7, our homes are a disaster, and there are a thousand other things that seem to need doing right away. These posts are all here to help you focus on yourself just a little bit, each day.
This post is one of my favorites, how to get at least 5 minutes a day to yourself for self-care when you’re a busy mom. It can be so overwhelming as a mom, to deal with your children’s needs, your household responsibilities, your relationships, and put yourself on the list. Making the time to meet your needs is just as important. You need to focus on taking care of yourself so that you can meet the needs of your family and home.
When you’re a busy mom, you don’t have a lot of money in the budget left over for things for yourself. Even if you do, you probably suffer from the typical ‘mom guilt’ that so many of us feel when we spend money on ourselves. This list of Free Self-Care Ideas is perfect for a busy mom.
As a new mom, it is so overwhelming and hard to figure out this new life. Everything changes in an instant. You’re left to figure out this tiny, helpless human, and your new role as a mother all at once. You’re giving all you can to your baby, but one thing that is in extremely short supply is time for yourself. Getting more self-care as a new mom is so important, and while difficult, not impossible.
One of my favorite things to do to make self-care easier is to keep a stash of my favorite things. Whether that’s making up a bunch of sugar scrub, or that I grab some extra face masks when they’re on sale. Keeping my favorite things on hand make it so that I can just grab what I desire to use.
Using my block schedule keeps me on track and gives me the time I need to get my self-care in. I have used this schedule for such a long time now and as I evolve my schedule, I adjust my times to suit my day best.
So many of us sacrifice our entire identity to be a mother when it is only hurting ourselves. As human beings, we need to focus on ourselves from time to time. Neglecting yourself only sets yourself up for running into the ground. You need to find the time to take care of your needs so that you can keep taking care of your family. Don’t set yourself up for failure by neglecting your needs.
I will continue to add to this list as time goes along. Looking for more self-care ideas? There are more posts that didn’t make this list. The ‘Self-care for moms’ tab at the top of your screen is where you can find all things self-care.
