8 of the Best Self Care Items I Can’t Live Without

It’s been a while, for that I apologize. This is one of those times where time could slow down.  Things are just crazy here right now, we have just moved and are working on renovations for our new home.  Every day has us running in some direction, so now, more than ever, my self care routine is important to me.  I have boiled down my favorite things into the absolute best self-care items I use.

Now that things appear to be slowing down, we have moved in, and our home is getting into order again, I am looking forward to getting back into my routine of writing.  This is a post I have slowly been working on over the past 3 weeks. I had intentions of writing a much longer list, but with the chaos that we have been in lately, and my recent silence on all things to do with my blog, I figured I should just wrap it up for now.  As I continue to think of items, I will make a part 2 that goes into much more detail.

So for now….

My favorite self care items

1. Seaweed Serum Skincare

I have written about this product before, but it is so good that I have to write about it again.  The Seaweed Serum from Roscara is my favorite find for moisturizing and anti-aging.   I wrote a whole blog post on it that you can check out here.   It is perfect on warm summer days, the gel is cool on your skin, doesn’t leave me feeling greasy, and it has all the benefits I look for in skincare.

2. A fabulous Sheet Mask

I have many favorites when it comes to sheet masks.  Tony Moly is probably my favorite overall, my skin is happy when I use one, and they are quite affordable.   Another new favorite is from Garnier and available at the drugstore.  I grabbed one of these when I came home from vacation a few weeks ago and my skin was so parched.  This mask rescued my skin and helped bring it back to life.

3.  An Amazing Bath Bomb

Is there much anything better than relaxing in a nice hot bath, soothing sounds surrounding you, or maybe just silence and a great book. Ummmmm…. Yeah, my bath’s don’t usually end up like that, but a nice smelling bath bomb can help with the relaxation factor.  I love buying gift sets for myself because I’m indecisive and can’t manage to make scent decisions online.

4. A Great Smelling Candle

Some of my favorite candles are ones we sold in a boutique shop I worked in years ago.  My favorite candles are Beanpod candles which are made from US grown soy wax, as well as WoodWick Candles which give the sound of a crackling fire.  Right now my home is filled with bakery & fall scents.

Right now my home is filled with bakery & fall scents. I just can’t get enough of these type fragrances.  About mid-summer, I’m pulling out my apple candles and getting them burning.  For me, these are my favorites, and I could easily burn them year round.

5.  A Cute Cocoa Mug

Okay, I admitedly don’t drink coffee and I don’t own this mug, but I just can’t help it, the Gilmore love is too strong. Since I don’t drink caffeine, whether it be pop or coffee, I end up drinking a lot of cocoa.  I love having a cute cocoa mug (or coffee mug to you coffee drinkers).  Most of my cute mugs end up being Christmas mugs because I am a huge fanatic when it comes to Christmas, you’ll see over the coming weeks, I’ve got plans! I really think this mug will be mine before too long though.

6. A Pair of Headphones

This one can easily go without saying.  A good pair of headphones to block out noise surrounding us.  I never get alone time without some sort of chaos going on behind me. Putting in headphones ensures that I can block all that out and just relax in peace.  SkullCandy headphones are some of my favorites because they are comfortable and good quality for the low price.

7. Music to listen to

So much of my life revolves around music. It is really one of the things that fills my soul.  I love to stream music especially, that way I can constantly change the type of music I am listening to without a large investment.  You also can’t go wrong with a free 30-day trial to test things out :).

8. Makeup

I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t include makeup in my must-have list.  It’s just part of who I am.  I am absolutely the girl who will put in headphones, crank up some music, and put on a full face of makeup just to make me feel like me.  It, almost more than anything else, is my happy place. Some of my must-have products are foundation (my favorites are from Rimmel), my Lash Paradise mascara (it is seriously amazing stuff), a good cream eyeshadow (I love the Maybelline Tatoo line) and a good eyeliner (Again Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner is my favorite).  I can make anything work with these products, yes, I have to fill in with some other products, but these are my go-to products I can’t live without.

So, What is your must-have self care item?

I need a long bath every once in a while and a mud mask while I’m in there. I like to use Epsom salts and essential oils in my bath water.

That sounds amazing Tanya! Why have I not given myself a mask while taking a bath? I feel like I have been missing out now, lol.
